uGatsheni Wins The Best Newcomer Award @ CCIA 2024

Ugatsheni was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the just-completed Cultural and Creative Industry Awards, along with Grammy Award winner Tyla and Lebo Malope. While Tyla, the now-international hip-hop sensation, was the centre of attention, Ugatsheni unexpectedly won the coveted prize. The Sandton Convention Centre hosted the event on March 30, 2024.

uGatsheni Takes Home The Top Newcomer Title: uGatsheni, aka Mlungisi Khuzani Ndlovu, was born in 1990. He started out in the Maskandi music scene in 2012, and after the publication of his ground-breaking song “Hit After Hit” in December 2023, he has been extremely well-known.

Due to his hectic schedule, Gatsheni was regrettably unable to attend the event on the 30th. He ended up going to seven more things on the same day. Nonetheless, he spared some time to express his gratitude on social media to the Deputy Minister, Minister Zizi Kodwa, and the South African Department of Sports, Art, and Culture.

The Award is valued at R100,000 in total.

Given that uGatsheni is presently ruling the chart by a wide margin, it is very likely that he will take home another prize at the Mother of Maskandi Festival Top 30 in a week. Additionally, he is pleading with his supporters to cast ballots in order for him to win handily on April 6, 2024.
