According to ZiMoja, the company has lost its last artist, Durban singer Mnqobi Yazo who has gone independent.
“He was the last artist standing,” an insider tells the publication.
The label once signed music stars like Khanyi Mbau, Nasty C, Letoya Makhene, Gigi Lamayne, Maraza, Zakwe and a few others.
“Mabala Noise was originally formed in 2015 by DJ Bongz and called Mabalabala until the Durban jock joined forces with former ANC Youth League treasurer general Mzwakhe Reginald Nkabinde, and it was renamed Mabala Noise. At the height of its success, the company signed the country’s top artists. In 2020, the CEO of the once star-studded record label said “Mabala Noise didn’t die but just went through a rough patch,” ZiMoja wrote.
