Forbes Foundation's Tribute To AKA With Art & Merchandise Exhibition

In memory of the late and renowned AKA, the Kiernan Forbes Foundation has announced a unique partnership.

Along with giving AKA’s fans an unmatched experience, the partnership gives up-and-coming South African artists a chance to show off their skills.

Kiernan’s forthcoming birthday celebrations include a pop-up art and merchandising exhibition at Sook Mall of Africa from January 26 to 28. The event will feature unique artwork and items honouring AKA.

The audience has a one-of-a-kind opportunity to purchase unique pieces during this brief exhibition.

The Kiernan Forbes Foundation seeks to further the legacy of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes by giving back to society in significant and empowering ways.

The foundation specifically wants to leverage his position to help young South Africans advance in the music industry and the larger cultural world. The inaugural initiative of the foundation is the exhibition at the Sook Mall of Africa. In addition to having their artwork on display during the exhibition, donating artists will receive 90% of all sales revenue; the remaining 10% will be donated to the Kairo Forbes Trust.

Prominent participants in this remarkable exhibition comprise, among others, GALXBOY, David Tshabalala, Mondli “The Artivist” Kunene, Thokozani, and SK Original. Each participant is expected to add their special flavour to this commemoration of AKA’s legacy.

In the upcoming years, AKA products will be sold in major retail establishments throughout Southern Africa thanks to yet another partnership with the Forbes family, bringing AKA closer than ever to the Megacy fanbase.

The goal of this project is to deeply inscribe Kiernan Forbes’s legacy in South African entertainment, fashion, and music.
