How K.O and Nasty C “Too Much” Lyrical Showcase Came About

According to Slikouronlife

Two of South African Hip-Hop’s top lyricists, K.O and Nasty C just dropped their first collaborative single ‘Too Much.

We caught up with K.O on the set of the single’s music video shoot and he broke down how the song came about and what it’s about.

“It’s a record I had cooked up,” K.O says. “I’ve been meaning to work with the homie for quite a bit. We’ve had numerous conversations and I’m just glad that we are at a position that he felt it’s something that resonates with him.

On the song’s subject matter, Skhanda Gawd said, “It’s just vibes, energy… us showcasing lyrical wit and also not only in a lyrical sense but we also choppin it up on what we represent — whenever we do things, we go over the top, we do too much.”

K.O added that ‘Too Much’ is a stand-alone song and won’t appear on his upcoming album. Unlike ‘Let Me Cook’, his smash hit featuring Maglera Doe Boy.

On the importance of collaboration

K.O added that the album will have about 16 songs and broke down why collaboration is important:

“This next album is something people are gonna celebrate more because I’m bringing a whole lot of people to the table. When it’s all said and done, we all need each other. K.O can’t run things on his own, or Cass or Nasty…

“We all need to play at the same table, we setting a great example for everyone else that’s looking for them to also say, ‘okay, even if I’m not a Nasty C fan, I can rock with K.O’s stuff; even if I’m a Cass fan, I can rock with Nasty’s stuff’ type of thing. So, we need to see more collaboration in the game and I’m just trying to do the best that I can to bring us together.”

On the secret to his longevity:

K.O is two decades deep in the game and is still playing at the highest level. He dropped some gems about longevity:

“Our industry, unfortunately, everyone has an expiration date. Sometimes it’s up to you to fight that, by staying in shape and putting your best foot forward. And you can do this thing until you a 100.”
