The catchy song is brings together a fusion of music that blends Amapiano and Hip-Hop with Afrikaans, Zulu and Xhosa, a befitting theme song to celebrate the rainbow nation’s national rugby team.
Produced by Steve ‘Sticky’ Menwana. ‘De Bokke’ brings top artists Fifi Cooper, Solid T, Nathan Jean, Slam Twice and Worldwide Scholarships CEO Munya Maraire.
The song is currently circulating on social media platforms and has already gripped some of the legendary Springbok players whose names are mentioned in the song with the likes of Siya Kolisi, Makazoli Mampimpi, Handrè Pollard, Brian Habana, and Faf de Klerk.
When asked why this kind of a project WWS CEO Munya Maraire mentioned: “We are proud of the Springboks and their achievement, and they are the champions in our eyes. We wanted to celebrate them and preserve the memory of their legendary performance this year through music, incorporating all cultures, races, and ages that embody South Africa. Music brings people of all cultures together in the same way sports do, and the fusion of sports and music is powerful. We look to get clearance from the South African Rugby Association and their partners to do a video of the song in January with the team and we are excited to bring this Afro-fusion to Springbok fans across the world.”
